The Gloria and Thomas Kitchen Memorial Foundation made a significant contribution to a Cystic Fibrosis Research Center at the University of Pittsburgh. The $ 49,000 gift was donated in December 2010 to the research center headed by Dr. Raymond Frizzell. The proceeds from two fundraisers in 2010 made this gift possible. It is only with the help of the many donors and volunteers associated with this foundation that this gift was made. Many thanks to all who made this amazing gift a reality! Dr.

Because the Gloria and Thomas Kitchen
Memorial Foundation has no offices,
no employees, and is entirely run
by family, friends, and other volunteers,
overhead is kept extremely low.
We want every dollar we raise to fund
research to fight cystic fibrosis – the #1
killer of children and young adults!

Dear Friends,
For the last 15 years, you and so many others have generously supported my sister, Gloria Kitchen in her fundraisers for cystic fibrosis. It is with great remembrance of Gloria and her courageous and generous spirit that we will continue her fundraising efforts to fight Cystic Fibrosis, the disease that took her young life, at age 32. Although Gloria did not live to see the day that CF stands for ‘Cure Found’, those she left behind known as “Team Gloria” are determined to see that day soon.

Gloria Kitchen began the Thomas R. Kitchen Memorial Foundation in 2010 after years of fundraising for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It was her dream to establish her own foundation in memory of her brother Thomas, who succumbed to the disease in 1996 at the age of 31.
